Lab Access Information

Main content start

EMF has both staff and user operated instruments.

Staff Operated Instruments:
To ensure high data quality and minimize downtime, some instruments are operated by the EMF staff members only. Usually, users prepare their samples and standards in their own labs following EMF's instructions for the individual instrument. Then, the users reserve time online on the EMF website and deliver the samples and standard solutions in the morning of the day reserved. The staff member will perform the analysis and post the data online. Please note that the turnaround time can be 24 hours or more.

User Operated Instruments:
Users will first receive training for the instrument from an EMF staff member. The users can then reserve instrument time online. During the first couple of uses, the staff member will be available to assist users to ensure proper operation of the instrument. Once fully trained and comfortable with operation of the instrument, trained users can reserve time online and access the instrument as needed. EMF staff are always available for further instrument support as needed.

EMF is open for users from 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays and in the evening and on weekends for special cases. To request access to the facility, either click on the link or scan the QR Code below.
