General: The XRD is available to all members of the Stanford community. This is an user run instrument. Before signing up, users must complete a training session on the instrument and complete the safety questionnaire. The Radiation Safety Questionnaire for Users of Cabinet X-ray or Irradiators is now available to take in STARS. As it is a program that requires annual renewal, learners should register for the certification program by going to STARS (Training) (at http://axess.stanford.edu ) and entering “EHS-PROG-1755” in the “Search Catalog” field. Two program listings will appear: one for the initial certification, and one for re-certifying in future years. If the learner clicks the “Continue” button to the right of the “EHS-PROG-1755” listing, s/he can follow the instructions to register for the program, then go to the STARS “My Learning” area to launch the test.
Once certified, users planning to run samples must sign up on the XRD Scheduler. That said, if you are not going to be a regular user of the XRF and only have a few samples you want to run, give us a call.
