- General: The GC is available to all members of the Stanford community. This is a user run instrument. All users must fill out the user log book each time the machine is operated.
- Operation: The GC is available for use by trained users Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Once trained, arrangements can be made to use this machine during off hours.
- Cost: The GC costs $5/injection for manual injections or $3/sample when using the autosampler. Users must have a valid Stanford PTA to sign up for this instrument.
- Samples: Only air samples can be run on this instrument. For manual injection, a minimum of 3 mL of sample is needed per injection, although more is preferable. For use of the autosampler, 12 mL Exetainer vials are required. Exetainer vials should be filled to slightly above atmospheric pressure (minimum of ~14 mL of gas).
- Standards: The lab provides a selection of gas standard for users. Please check that we have the appropriate standards for your analysis prior to scheduling time. Additional standards can potentially be ordered as needed. Users in need of specialized standards may need to need to purchase their own prior to using the instrument.
