Main content start

General Information

The Shimadzu Nexis GC-2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) analyzer is a gas chromatography (GC) system equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID), electron capture detector (ECD), and thermal conductivity detector (TCD). It is configured to measure hydrogen (H2), oxygen (O2), nitrogen (N2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), acetylene (C2H2), ethylene (C2H4), ethane (C2H6), nitrous oxide (N2O), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).  The detection/quantitation limits of the instrument are as follows:

  • Hydrogen (H2): 50 ppm - 100%
  • Oxygen (O2): 100 ppm - 100%
  • Nitrogen (N2): 150 ppm - 100%
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2): 1 ppm - 100%
  • Carbon monoxide (CO): 1 ppm - 100%
  • Methane (CH4): 1 ppm - 5%
  • Acetylene (C2H2), Ethylene (C2H4), Ethane (C2H6): 1 ppm - 5%
  • Nitrous oxide (N2O): 10 ppb - 100 ppm
  • Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6): 0.1 ppb - 1 ppm
