The FreeZone 4.5 Liter benchtop freeze dryer uses a single 1/3 hp HCFC/CFC-free refrigeration system to cool the collector to -50° C (-58° F) and is suitable for aqueous samples only. Click here for more information from the Labconco website. The freeze dryer removes water from a frozen product by sublimation. Sublimation occurs when ice is converted directly into gaseous water vapor without the intermediate formation of a liquid phase. To achieve sublimation, samples must be pre-frozen before being placed in the instrument.
